The award-winning spa at the Bedford Lodge Hotel is situated in the racing town of Newmarket in the Suffolk countryside. The Spa
Set over two levels with floor to ceiling windows, the spa features a hydrotherapy pool with five different water jet zones, a sauna and steam room with hammam table, plus experience showers. Upstairs, you’ll find a lounge area that leads onto the rooftop terrace with a hot tub overlooking the paddocks.
The spa has its own lounge restaurant offering light lunch options. For those looking for something more indulgent, there’s a selection of cakes and desserts, plus a wine and champagne list.
The changing rooms are equipped with lockers which contain a robe, towel and slippers for use during your time in the spa, so all you need to bring is your swimwear. You’ll find ESPA products in the showers and there are even ghd hair straighteners and eco-friendly wet bags.
The Treatment
The therapist begins the Precious Moments treatment with chakra stones placed on the chest and visualisation techniques to help calm the mind and body. Three deep breaths in and out…
Settling into the comfortable massage bed, she begins with a foot rub followed by a hydrating foot mask before wrapping them up in warm towels.
She then moves onto the facial cleanse/massage using my chosen ESPA oil of regenerating sandalwood and soothes the skin with a neroli infused hydrating toner. She expertly loosens the knots in my neck before ending with a heavenly scalp massage.
After the treatment, you can chill in the relaxation room fitted with comfy lounges and tonnes of pillows – great for a post-massage snooze.
